Honda recall 936,000 cars due to fire concerns

It doesn't happen often, but Honda Motor are having to recall 936,000 cars across the globe due to defective power window switches.

Honda announced today the recall which effects the Jazz (or Fit subcompact in some countries). Honda are saying that the problem could ‘in a worst case scenario' cause the switch to partically melt with the cover catching fire. They are keen to point out that no one has yet been injured.

Honda Jazz- recalls in place

Honda are going to recall 216,193 units in Japan and 203,777 of these are produced between October 2005 and October 2007. Another 297,000 are being recalled in Asia, and 103,000 units in North America.

The recall also effects the CR-V sport utility vehicle and the City Car.

Kitguru says: It doesn't happen often to Honda on this scale, but it is going to cost them many millions to fix all the vehicles.
