Batman: Arkham City – 4.6 million shipped

One of the most hyped games this year has been flying off the shelves since it was released last week for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. According to the latest reports, 4.6 million units has been sold in the first week.

The sales of this game haven't been a surprise as the first game – Batman: Arkham Asylum was such a huge success story.

Batman: moody and pms'ing.

Batman: Arkham City has received many rave reviews already for both console platforms and it looks to be one of the big sellers this year. Having played the game myself (and beaten it already), I would say this is one you shouldn't miss, although I am really looking forward to seeing it running on a PC, rather than a console.

You have to wait a little while longer for that release in the UK however.

Kitguru says: Can anyone answer a question that has been burning for me? Why was Batman so grumpy and sour? Throughout the latter part of the game, he was being ruder and more dismissive of other characters. When he met Robin for the first time I actually wanted to reach into the screen and slap him myself. Perhaps being a billionaire is tougher than it sounds?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.

  1. I beat it in a day, found it rather disappointing. Last battle was crap, and the sub missions were all very poor.

  2. Nvidia will be promoting it hard now until christmas to sell some video cards, as PC version heavily uses physx. Looks ok to me, but I wasnt a big fan of the first.
