Sonic Frontiers, Forspoken and more coming to PlayStation Plus Extra

Each month, Sony updates its PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium libraries with a selection of new (and sometimes returning) games. For the final month of 2024, the company is giving subscribers quite a lot to chew on over the holidays – including Sonic Frontiers and the PS5 console-exclusive Forspoken.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Adam Michel – the Director for Content Acquisition & Operations at SIE – said:

“Experience the exhilarating platforming speeds of Sonic Frontiers, the magical and nimble traversal of Forspoken, the delightful chaos of Rabbids, and the realistic rally simulation of WRC Generations. These games and more form December’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup and are available to play from December 17”.

With that, the full line-up of titles dropping next week features the following:

  • Sonic Frontiers | PS4, PS5
  • Forspoken | PS5
  • Rabbids: Party of Legends | PS4
  • WRC Generations | PS4, PS5
  • F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch | PS4, PS5
  • Jurassic World Evolution 2 | PS4, PS5
  • Coffee Talk | PS4, PS5
  • Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly | PS4, PS5
  • A Space for the Unbound | PS4, PS5
  • PHOGS | PS4
  • Biped | PS4, PS5
  • Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge | PS VR2 (Premium)

Typically, Sony would also announce the full PlayStation Plus Premium line-up in the same post, however, December’s classics already went live a couple days ago; those being Sly 2: Band of Thieves; Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

2024 has been a pretty solid year for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. And while PS Plus Premium has always felt somewhat incomplete, Sony has made a good amount of progress in bringing the classics which people have been asking for to the service. Hopefully PS Plus in 2025 presents an even better value.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
