Diablo III beta coming in Q3 2011

Blizzard aim to launch a beta for Diablo III in Q3 this year. Many games have been waiting for this title for a long time, hoping that it will recapture the magic of the series with an up to date engine.

Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in an investor call that they have started internal testing and are ‘currently targeting a Q3 launch for external beta testing'. He also said that they can't yet reveal the expected launch date however it looks as if plans are being made for the end of the year, probably in time for the holiday sales.

Thankfully Blizzard don't seem to be rushing the release and compromising the content as Rob Pardo, Executive Vice President of Game Design said “Our goal is to get there. But you know, at the end of the day, we are going to get it right. That's more important, we're going to promise, we're going to get it out there when it's awesome. And, we're crossing our fingers, maybe it will be this year.”

KitGuru says: Is this a game you are waiting to play? Let's hope it is as good as the others in the franchise.
