Switch 2 could be announced in January according to insider

Following years of leaks, rumours and speculation, Nintendo finally confirmed that they will be officially unveiling the successor to the Nintendo Switch some time during this current fiscal year. While we have not gotten any updates since, one insider claims that the Switch 2 could be announced as early as January 2025.

As reported by known insider Nate Drake during the most recent episode of the Nate the Hate podcast, the leaker claimed that Nintendo’s Switch successor (which was promised to be announced by the end of this fiscal year), could appear sooner than its 31st of March deadline.

According to Nate, Nintendo is currently planning to officially announce the Switch 2 sometime in the second half of January or early February.

This will then be followed up by a second showcase in May which will serve as the console’s proper blowout event.

Finally, the console maker will reportedly launch the Switch successor in June – marking the end of what has felt like an infinite wait for the Switch 2.

Of course, as with all leaks and rumours, things could change at any point in time, and so the report should be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, if true, the Switch 2 could be just over a month away from its official unveiling.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
