Xbox 360 slim helps Microsoft outsell the Wii

June 2010 has been a very strong month for Microsofts Xbox 360. We have been looking at data from the NPD Group which details that the Xbox 360 Slim has helped push sales above the two main rivals, the Nintendo Wii and the Sony Playstation 3.

In June Microsoft sold 451,700 Xbox 360 slim consoles which compares well against the Wii's 422,500 and the PS3's 304,800. Compared to the month before this translates to a 35% increase for Microsoft.

The Xbox 360 Slim sales have proved higher than analysts expected and the assumption is that many people are ‘trading up' or have bought another one for the living room.

KitGuru says: Slim products always seem popular with the public.
