Mario is confirmed release in full 3D for new 3DS console

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Mario will be hitting the upcoming 3DS console in glorious 3D. While everyone knew this would happen, this is the first official statement that Nintendo have released, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco yesterday.

The good news is that the Nintendo team who were responsible for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are handling all the development duties, but as yet there is no release date being given. This will be a big seller for Nintendo and will assuredly shift millions of consoles also in the run up to end of year sales.

The title will offer ‘traditional Mario gameplay' but will feature glorious 3D graphics, bringing ‘true depth and distance' into the gameplay mechanics.

its a me, 3D a Mario.

Nintendo are planning a series of ‘3D Classics', older titles which will get a 2011 remake. Current DSIWare titles are also going to be made available, as well as an internet browser and a shortform video download facility so users can get music videos and movie trailers.

KitGuru says: Shigeru Miyamoto's creation has also been tied into the Nintendo name and is still their flagship character. The news of a full 3D version of an upcoming game has already got the gaming masses foaming at the mouth in excitement.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
