Competition: Win a 5870XT, 5770 and a 5750 plus games!

It has been a great opening week for KitGuru and we thank you all for helping us get onto our feet with such a warm welcome.

Our first competition is a beauty and we have our very good friends AMD to thank for it.

We have not one, but three blistering 5xxx series cards to win today —

ATI 5870XT, the 5770 and a 5750 !

Not only that, but we also have a plethora of games to give away to more lucky winners.

These cards are all ATI reference boards, and the 5870XT is signed by our good buddy Terry Makedon specially for Kitguru readers and the 5770 is signed by AMD product manager Simon Vivera.

For all those who will enter and won't win one of these great video cards, we are also giving away some game codes.

Two Steam keys for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

One Steam Key for Colin McRae Dirt 2

Two EA Keys for Dragon Age with an accompanying promo code.

That means we will have a total of 8 prize winners, with 3 lucky readers winning some of the sexiest hardware available on the market today.

How do I enter?

Well firstly wipe the drool from your chin and head over to our forum thread and post a new company slogan for AMD. It could be something witty, or something serious. For example: “AMD, pioneers of quality hardware” or “AMD, Ruby r0x0rs my b0x0rs!”. It really is that simple.

When does the competition end and does it matter where I live?

The competition will end on Sunday the 20th Of June and all the winners will be picked by AMD. Anyone can enter, regardless of location and you can enter as many times as you want – there is no charge, all you need to do is have a forum account and if you win when it ends we will contact you directly to get your shipping information. Moderators (volunteers) can enter the competition – only paid members of the administration team are blacklisted from entering.

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.
