Much-needed stealth patch goes live for Star Wars Outlaws

The release of Star Wars Outlaws seemed to represent a canary in the coal mine when it comes to the current state of Ubisoft, with the game launching to plenty of issues and selling lower than expected. That said, following the release of their support roadmap for Outlaws last week, Ubisoft’s promised update to fix the game’s frustrating stealth has now gone live.

Making the announcement on their blog, the Star Wars Outlaws team officially unveiled Title Update 1.2, saying:

“In this second Title Update, we've focused on improving the camera on your speeder and its responsiveness amongst other tweaks to ensure your adventures are smoother and more rewarding. Please find below the complete list of updates.”

With that, the major changes and enhancements to arrive with this update includes the following:

  • Tweaked the overall stealth experience by adjusting AI detection, the number of NPCs and their positioning, patrol pathing, camera detection and highlighting environmental opportunities to reduce player friction
  • Improved the position of the speeder camera when the FOV was increased
  • Improved the speeder's response and reaction when called
  • Improved speeder collision with the environment to reduce being knocked off the speeder

Beyond this, Outlaws has also seen various improvements to Kay’s movement animations; the appearance of NPCs; foliage visuals; new accessibility options; control enhancements and more. The full patch notes can be found HERE.

The next major patch set to come to Star Wars Outlaws is ‘Title Update 3’. Going live on the 24th of October the update is said to focus primarily on “Quality of Life improvements” – though as with this most recent patch, there will likely be a whole lot more to it.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
