Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been delayed to 2026, yet

While Rockstar had announced plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on current-gen consoles in 2025, one source now claims that the game has slipped internally to 2026.

A small GTA-focused content creator, @billsyliamgta, has claimed to have heard from multiple developers across two Rockstar studios that the game has been delayed to 2026. As this person works for a large GTA fansite, GTABase, a lot of fans have put stock in this rumour, but it may not be as reliable as some are perceiving.

When developers are looking to leak information, there is usually a bit of a cycle, where numerous members of the press will be contacted, rather than just one person. So far, the team at Insider Gaming, and other gaming-focused reporters like Jason Schreier, have not heard anything that would suggest a delay to the game.

In his own post on X, Jason Schreier clarified that while it is entirely possible that there could be a delay for GTA 6, based on Rockstar's track-record, so far, that information hasn't come across his desk.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is still targeting 2025 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. Rumours claim that Sony has already secured marketing rights for the game, so it should be part of a big push for PS5 and PS5 Pro console sales next year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
