Xbox announces Tokyo Game Show 2024 plans

Set to take place between the 21st and 24th of September, Tokyo Game Show represents one of the remaining major annual industry conventions. In recent years, Microsoft has made a greater effort in having a presence at the showcase. With a few weeks to go until the event, Xbox has now officially announced its TGS plans.

Taking to the Xbox Wire blog, Larissa Hazel – the Director of Gaming Integrated Marketing at Xbox Asia – said “The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 Broadcast returns on Thursday, September 26 at 7pm JST / 3am Pacific / 6am Eastern / 11am UK. We warmly welcome players around the world to tune in as we share content from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda.”

While details remain light so far on exactly what is planned to be shown off, the console manufacturer did offer some hints on what to expect, adding “We’ll also showcase an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan and across Asia, including games coming to Xbox Game Pass.”

During last year’s TGS, Microsoft showed off a few first party titles in the form of Forza Motorsport, Fallout 76’s Atlantic City update and announced the Japanese release of The Elder Scrolls Online. On the 3rd party front, we saw the likes of the Ace Attorney trilogy; Exoprimal; Like a Dragon Gaiden; Octopath Traveler II; Palworld and Persona 3 Reload.

For more than an entire console generation at this point, Xbox has been trying to edge its way into the Japanese gaming market. It will be interesting to see what they plan to show off at this year’s event.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
