Konami teases Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Back in October of last year, Konami officially released the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 – a remastered compilation of the original MGS trilogy alongside some bonus titles. Perhaps more exciting however is the suggestion that a second volume is in the works. While details remain light, when asked about Volume 2 and the possible inclusion of MGS4, Konami simply teased fans by saying “stay tuned”.

In an interview conducted by IGN during Gamescom, the Metal Gear publisher sat down to discuss the upcoming MGS Delta remake. That said, when asked “directly about bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern consoles,” Konami producer ‘Noriaki Okamura’ had this to say:

“We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4. Unfortunately we can't really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots!”

Okamura continued, “Right now we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!”

Based on the wording, it seems quite clear that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be included in the upcoming collection. This marks a major moment for the game, as MGS4 to this day remains exclusive to the PlayStation 3 – meaning even PS4/5 players are unable to natively experience this title.

As such, getting perhaps the most important entry in the series on as many platforms as possible makes a great deal of sense. Hopefully MGS4 is given the time and care needed to represent a solid remaster.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
