2D souls-like Death’s Gambit is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, Epic gives away a title or two to all those with an Epic Games account. Available from 4PM today, players can get their hands on the striking 2D Souls-like metroidvania Death’s Gambit: Afterlife.

Available to add to your library from today until the 22nd of August, Death’s Gambit: Afterlife is a “challenging 2D action platformer with deep RPG elements” from the team at White Rabbit in which “As an agent of Death bound to his service,” you must “unravel the mystery of Siradon and discover the true price of immortality.”

Death’s Gambit: Afterlife in particular is an expanded version of the original game, adding “10 new levels, over 30 weapons, 5 new bosses, mechanical overhauls, and more.”

With beautifully detailed pixel art and an interesting aesthetic, Death’s Gambit is certainly worth picking up and checking out.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
