Modders bring World of Warcraft to VR

There have been many mods over the years to make 3D games playable in VR. However, few of them offer 6 degrees of freedom with motion controls baked in. The developers behind the Flat2VR mod have been working on the technology for a decade at this point and recently, they brought out their World of Warcraft VR mod.

The mod is packed with features that should appeal to VR enthusiasts, including head-tracked positional audio and analogue movement. It offers a unique take on the MMORPG genre, turning the game into an FPS-style experience.

However, there are some limitations to be aware of. The mod is only compatible with patch 3.3.5a, the last update to Wrath of the Lich King, making it incompatible with Classic or Modern WoW. Despite this, it remains a good option for those seeking a private VR trip in Azeroth.

Those interested in the mod can find it on GitHub. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

For pretty much its entire existence, Call of Duty has operated using a familiar model, with the FPS franchise seeing a brand new title released on an annual basis from one of the 3 core COD studios. While this has worked in the past, Black Ops 7 seems to have been a breaking point for some. According to known insiders, Microsoft is now considering a major shake-up, including a standalone Zombies game.
