Razer has been using HyperSense technology to bring new haptic feedback features to a number of peripherals in recent years. Soon, Razer's HyperSense tech will be getting a boost, as the company has now acquired haptic feedback specialist, Interhaptics.
Interhaptics was founded in 2017 with the goal of delivering consistent, realistic and immersive haptic feedback solutions for mixed reality, as well as PC and console peripherals. Razer began shipping HyperSense products in 2018, starting with the Nari Ultimate headset. Since then, HyperSense has gone on to be used in several other products from Razer, including the Kraken V3.
Now with Razer acquiring Interhaptics, the company will be looking to expand HyperSense across more products to build out a full ecosystem of peripherals with haptic features.
“Haptics has tremendous value for gamers,” said Eric Vezzoli, CEO of Interhaptics. “The opportunity to join Razer was a no brainer for us, as they are committed to delivering the most engaging gaming experience, and we are looking forward to doing it together as part of the Razer family.” Razer's Senior VP of hardware business, Alvin Cheung, added that “interhaptics brings leading expertise in haptics and their development platform will be leveraged to expand the HyperSense ecosystem”.
Following the acquisition by Razer, Interhaptics Founder and CEO Eric Vezzoli will join Razer as Associate Director of Haptics. Interhaptics will remain an independent entity, but will be closely integrated into the Razer ecosystem.

KitGuru Says: The HD-Rumble in the Switch Joy-Cons helped me realise how important haptic feedback can be and more recently, Sony's DualSense controller has shown just how much it can add to gameplay. Hopefully soon we'll see a whole host of haptic-supported peripherals from Razer to bring some of that magic to the PC platform.
