Like a Dragon studio claims fans will be “surprised” by their next game

RGG Studio has made a name for itself over the years for its work on the excellent and much-loved Yakuza / Like a Dragon series. In recent entries especially, the team have gone all out, embracing multiple genres, game modes, themes and more. That said, even beyond this, it seems RGG have some tricks up their sleeves, with the team teasing that fans will be “surprised” by their next game.

As reported by VGC, during the recent Essence of Fandom event at Anime Expo, the team at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio teased the next entry in the Like a Dragon series, saying:

“We can't tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you'll be surprised.”

Given the fact that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth featured all sorts of odd and interesting concepts, from golf to gambling and even a Pokemon-esque monster capturing Sujimon mini game – the possibilities for the next entry appears to be ‘infinite’. Hopefully RGG are able to continue their streak of excellent titles.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
