Resident Evil 9 tipped to be launching in January 2025

While recent reports claimed that Resident Evil 9 had been internally delayed, the ‘leaker' who shared that information has since clarified. It turns out the game is not delayed, and could be releasing as soon as early 2025.

According to Dusk Golem, who has a pretty good track record for Capcom leaks, particularly when it comes to Resident Evil, the next mainline game in the series is targeting a January 2025 release date. Better yet, the game should be officially announced soon.

Given Capcom's previous RE-related marketing partnerships with Sony, we would guess that Resident Evil 9 will be announced at the next PlayStation Showcase, which should take place in late May, ahead of Summer Games Fest and well ahead of Microsoft's summer showcase, which takes place on June 9th.

Dusk Golem also shared that Resident Evil 9 has been in development for about seven years, which would mean Capcom was working on it alongside development on Resident Evil Village.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
