Horizon Zero Dawn is leaving PlayStation Plus Extra

A couple years ago Sony revamped its PlayStation Plus subscription service with new tiers including PS Plus Extra – which serves essentially like Xbox’s Game Pass. Though day-one first-party additions are absent, a good number of PlayStation games have been added over time. Surprisingly, Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is actually leaving the service.

Though Sony does not add its first-party games to PS Plus Extra day-and-date like Microsoft does with Xbox Game Pass, most of the games have found their way onto the service eventually – remaining as a permanent addition thereafter.

It therefore comes as a big surprise that one of the games leaving the service is Sony’s own Horizon Zero Dawn, which as reported by PushSquare is set to be removed on the 21st of May.

Being a first-party title (and an older one at that) there is no real reason why Sony would remove the game from the library…unless they plan to announce the rumoured remake soon.

This is what many fans have begun to speculate since the announcement of its removal. We have not had a situation like this in the past, and so it is curious to see Horizon Zero Dawn being removed.

Once The Last of Us Part I is inevitably added to PS Plus Extra, it’ll be interesting to see whether the currently-available TLOU Remastered is taken off.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
