Content Warning has sold 1 million copies following massive free period

Landfall Games made the bold decision to make its new game, Content Warning, free to claim on Steam during its launch day. This quickly led to millions of players claiming the game, but it has also helped sales grow, with the new game amassing 1 million sales following the 24-hour free period.

At its launch, Landfall offered Content Warning for free during the first 24 hours, with the intention of charging for the game after the debut. This strategy resulted in a concurrent player count of 204,439 on Steam in the first 24 hours.

Nevertheless, the launch approach has paid off, as the small team of developers behind Content Warning announced impressive sales numbers. In addition to the one million copies sold, the game was acquired by 6.6 million gamers during the free launch period that lasted 24 hours.

It's a remarkable achievement for a game created by a small team of individuals and released on April Fools' Day, as per Landfall's tradition. If you haven't grabbed it for free during the launch campaign, you can get it now for £6.69/€7.79/$7.99 on Steam. The game has been rated by over 7,400 players, of which 92% recommend it.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
