Marvel Rivals is heading to consoles too

Earlier this month, Marvel Games announced a new partnership with NetEase to produce Marvel Rivals, a new PvP shooter featuring a full cast of Marvel characters. Currently, the game is only announced for PC, with plans for beta testing to take place soon. However, it does look like the game will also be coming to consoles.

With a very similar set-up to Overwatch, Marvel Rivals will put players in hectic PvP matches, synergising different hero abilities to try and gain an edge on the enemy team. As a free to play multiplayer title, Marvel Rivals will work best as a multiplatform release, so we were never expecting it to be a PC exclusive. However, the lack of console version announcement was seen as odd.

Fortunately for console gamers, Marvel Rivals looks to be heading to Xbox Series X/S and PS5. As spotted by Dreamz on Twitter, hidden code on the Marvel Rivals website reveals that the game is planned to come to Steam, the Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles.

Other leaks from game researcher, Kurakasis, claim that a mobile version of the game may also be on the way, along with a Spider-Punk skin as one of the first confirmed cosmetics.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
