Assassin’s Creed Jade may slip to 2025

Ubisoft has been working with Tencent on Assassin's Creed Jade for a while now, a mobile Assassin's Creed game with console-like graphics and an open world. While the game was expected to be arriving fairly soon, new reports indicate that the game has been delayed more than a full year.

According to sources familiar with Tencent's operations, speaking with Reuters, Tencent recently “redeployed” hundreds of developers from the team working on Assassin's Creed Jade, shuffling them over to another mobile game called DreamStar.

While Assassin's Creed Jade was previously expected to arrive in 2024, in part due to a polished looking gameplay leak in 2023, the game may now be delayed to 2025.

While this mobile spin-off might not be making its way out this year, Ubisoft's next major game, Assassin's Creed Red, should be releasing in late 2024, finally giving fans a campaign set in feudal Japan.

KitGuru Says: Ubisoft has not responded to these reports, nor has Tencent, so we'll have to wait and see. If Assassin's Creed Red makes it out this year, that could put the franchise back in a stronger position to draw in interest for Assassin's Creed Jade in 2025.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
