Lies of P surpasses 7 million players

Lies of P released back in September 2023 to a wave of success, selling 1 million copies within its first month and cementing itself as one of – if not the – best Souls-like outside of FromSoftware’s own efforts. 6 months on from release and the game is performing better than ever, surpassing 7 million players.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Lies of P page revealed the milestone achievement, saying “7 MILLION reasons to celebrate. Thank you for being part of our journey.”

As mentioned, Lies of P sold 1 million copies in its first month, and to see it continuing to grow at such a rapid rate is impressive to say the least.

It is worth noting however that in this situation, 7 million players does not equate to 7 million copies sold. While the game has likely gone on to sell way more than the initial 1 million, Lies of P was a day-one Game Pass addition, meaning a good chunk of the 7 million likely played it there.

Regardless, Lies of P has seemingly managed to break out from under the shadow of FromSoftware.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
