Intel Core Ultra 200K qualification samples are on the way

Leaks are often based on early silicon versions such as ES1 or ES2 (Engineering Samples), which may not accurately reflect the final silicon's performance. These versions usually have varying clock speeds and features activated or disabled. Enthusiasts often prefer QS (Qualification Sample) versions, which closely represent the retail product's performance.

The Core Ultra 200K desktop CPUs are currently in the ES2 phase, with partners waiting for QS units. Initially scheduled for WW40 (September 30th to October 6th), Jaykihn claims that the QS (Qualification Sample) seeding has been shifted to WW34-36 (August 19th to September 8th). As such, we can expect to see the first benchmark results earlier than first thought. Moreover, it also corroborates the rumour that the upcoming Core Ultra 200K desktop CPUs will be released in October.

This advancement won't apparently affect the Core Ultra 200 non-K QS units, which are still expected to ship to partners during WW49 (December 2nd to December 15th).

It is worth mentioning that the Core Ultra 200 series will have two die designs (8+16) and (6+8). The former is expected to be the first to release (in October), with the latter set to appear with the Core Ultra non-K series early next year, possibly at CES 2025.
