Physics-based sandbox ‘Teardown’ gets 12-player multiplayer and much more in new update

Teardown is an impressive physics based sandbox title which first released back in 2022. Praised for its destructibility and possibilities in emergent gameplay, the game has only improved with time thanks to a bunch of free post-launch support. By far the biggest update however comes in the form of a 12 player multiplayer mode – officially available right now.

First teased back in July of last year, the team behind Teardown ‘Tuxedo Labs’ have officially gone live with the game’s latest update, writing: “Multiplayer is Here – Play together any way you want. Team up with up to 12 players in co-op, try modes like Deathmatch and CTF or unleash chaos together in Sandbox.”

The long-awaited update comes packed with a bunch of new modes, maps and more, namely:

  • Full base campaign now playable in Multiplayer
  • Treasure Thieves [game mode]
  • Deathmatch [game mode]
  • Team Deathmatch [game mode]
  • Capture the Flag [game mode]
  • Splitfield Estate [new map]
  • Cratertown [new map]
  • Full compatibility with multiplayer mods

All of this is free and available right now. As mentioned, Teardown has seen strong support over the years outside of this latest update, with previous patches introducing a 3rd-person mode; new playable characters; mod support improvements and more.

If you haven't checked the game out since its initial launch, now is a good time to hop back in, with each update making this dynamic and emergent experience even more so – especially now with a group of up to 12 friends.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
