Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second highest-rated Final Fantasy game of all time

Ahead of the game's launch next week, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reviews officially gone live and by the looks of it, Square Enix has a hit on its hands. As of now, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second highest rated Final Fantasy game of all time.

If you were already finding the wait for this game painful, then it may get a little worse. As noted by Benji Sales, a Twitter account dedicated to games industry analytics, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth now sits at a 93 overall on Metacritic, based on 119 critic reviews.

You could argue that it should be the highest rated Final Fantasy of all time, as Final Fantasy 9 currently sits at a 94 overall, but that is based on a much lower 22 critic reviews.

Many of the reviews point to more freedom of movement, open environments and twists on the classic story as strong points for the game. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will officially launch on the 29th of February, exclusively for PS5, but a free demo is already available to play. While the game is exclusive for now, it should come to PC eventually, just as Final Fantasy 7 Remake did.

KitGuru Says: I finished Final Fantasy 7 Remake last year in preparation for the sequel. With glowing reviews like this, I may just have to make it a day-one purchase. Are any of you planning on picking up Rebirth next week?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
