Helldivers 2 is PlayStation’s most-played PC game at launch

Helldivers 2 has officially launched, with the game arriving simultaneously on PS5 and PC. On the PC side, the launch has gone down particularly well, with the game achieving PlayStation's highest PC launch numbers ever.

Helldivers 2 has peaked at 81,840 players, and currently has over 68,000 players actively in game on Steam. We don't have PS5 player numbers yet but on the PC side, the game has outpaced God of War, which peaked at over 73,500 players at launch in early 2022.

While the game is selling well on PC right now, the game does have a mixed overall rating on Steam, but most of the complaints seem to boil down to crashes and the game's kernel-level anti-cheat solution. The overall feedback on gameplay seems to be largely positive.

Hopefully these technical issues can be ironed out with some patches. Unfortunately with the weekend coming up, players may have to wait until next week to get fixes.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
