AMD confirms worldwide availability for Ryzen 8000F CPUs

AMD has quietly confirmed that its new Ryzen 8000F desktop CPUs will be released worldwide. Based on Phoenix/Hawk Point silicon and without integrated graphics, AMD is starting off with two Ryzen 8000F processors – the Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F.

The Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F will be available internationally, not just in China. According to AMD, they will be exclusive to OEM partners (and probably system integrators), but they may still enter the retail market if sold to retailers on trays.

The Ryzen 7 8700F is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU with a base speed of 4.1GHz and a peak clock of 5.1GHz. It features 8MB and 16MB of L2 and L3 cache, respectively, and requires a dedicated graphics card. The Ryzen AI (XDNA) CPU is not activated in this SKU. The Ryzen 5 8400F, on the other hand, is a 6-core CPU with a base clock speed of 4.2GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.7GHz. It has 6MB of L2 cache and 16MB of L3 cache, similar to the Ryzen 5 8500G. However, like the Ryzen 7 8700F, it doesn't have Ryzen AI acceleration and an iGPU.

AMD's product pages for the Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F claim the CPUs launched on April 1st, but as far as we know, no system integrators or OEMs have them yet.
