Street Fighter 6 sells 3 million copies

In the lead up to Street Fighter 6, both Capcom and fans alike seemed confident in the fact that this latest fighting title would be a big deal, with the publisher hoping to sell 10 million copies when all is said and done. Capcom is already well on its way to achieving this goal, with SF6 having reached 3 million copies sold in just over 6 months.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team at Capcom said, “Street Fighter 6, the latest title in the storied Street Fighter series, has sold over 3 million units worldwide (as of January 3, 2024).”

This represents a great milestone for the game, which for context managed to sell 1 million copies in just 3 days.

This was then pushed to 2 million copies within the first month; so while the rate at which the game has sold might’ve slowed down significantly since June, it still represents a strong and consistent grand return for the Street Fighter series – especially in the wake of SF5’s less-than-stellar launch.

Considering that game ended up selling 7.4 million copies, Street Fighter 6 should easily beat it in just a few short years. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
