The Nintendo Switch 2 is about to be more expensive for UK buyers

Nintendo raised the price of the Switch 2 in the US earlier this year. Now a few months on from that announcement, the company has confirmed that the console will also be getting a price increase in the UK and Ireland.

Starting from September, the base Switch 2 model will cost £419.99 in the UK, representing a £24 increase over the current price. The Euro price is also going up, with the console set to cost €499.99 in Ireland. Nintendo shared the update as part of its latest regional pricing adjustments.

This new price applies to the standard Switch 2 without an included game. Previously, the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle could be purchased for £429.99, just £10 more than the new base price of the console on its own. With the increase, the bundle now sits noticeably higher than the entry‑level hardware.

Despite having less storage and RAM than an Xbox Series X/S or PS5, Nintendo has still been impacted by rising component costs. Even so, the company has managed to keep the Switch 2’s pricing relatively close to its original launch MSRP. By comparison, both Xbox and PlayStation consoles are now hundreds of pounds more expensive than their respective day‑one launches.

KitGuru Says: The Nintendo Switch 2 is now more expensive in the UK, but not by a prohibitively high amount. The same can't be said for Xbox and PlayStation consoles at the moment.
