Corsair unveils new Vanguard keyboards with built-in LCD and Elgato Stream Deck integration

Corsair has unveiled a new line of gaming keyboards, marking a departure from its long-running K-series branding. The new Vanguard series is launching with two models, the Vanguard 96 and the top-tier Vanguard Pro 96, both of which are absolutely packed with high-end features for gamers and streamers, including an integrated LCD screen and native Elgato Stream Deck support.

What makes this keyboard stand out for content creators is the integration with Elgato. The keyboard's six programmable G-keys can be assigned functions directly within the Stream Deck app. More innovatively, a new “Virtual Stream Deck” feature enables users to bring up an on-screen Stream Deck overlay with the touch of a button, providing streamers with robust control without the need for a separate device.

Both keyboards are built on a compact 96% layout, which keeps the numpad while saving desk space. They also feature a 320×170 LCD next to a rotary dial for at-a-glance info and control. Internally, the boards use four layers of sound-dampening foam, are hot-swappable, and offer an 8,000 Hz hyper-polling rate for near-instant response.

The main difference between the two models lies in the switch type. The flagship Vanguard Pro 96 uses Corsair's new MGX Hyperdrive Hall Effect magnetic switches, which offer competitive features such as Rapid Trigger and a user-configurable actuation point. The standard Vanguard 96 features Corsair's pre-lubed MLX mechanical switches, providing a more traditional mechanical typing experience.

Customisation is done via the new “Corsair Web Hub”, a web-based tool for managing RGB, macros, and other settings. The new Vanguard keyboards are now available for purchase, starting at £159.99/$179.99 for the Vanguard 96 and £209.99/$229.99 for the Pro variant.
