Ark: Survival Ascended UE5 remake finally gets a proper gameplay reveal

Microsoft has worked with the developers behind Ark: Survival Evolved a few times in recent years. Ark 2 was announced at an Xbox conference and Microsoft aided in funding with a day-one Game Pass deal. Before we get to the sequel though, Studio Wildcard has us returning to the original game in remastered form.

Ark: Survival Ascended was announced quite some time ago but news on it has been quiet ever since. The newly upgraded version of the game makes the jump to Unreal Engine 5, with fresh new graphical features to enhance the visuals. Tonight during the Xbox Partner Preview, we finally got out first look at Ark: Survival Ascended in action:

Fancy new graphics features aren't the only change here. Ark: Survival Ascended will also feature cross-platform gameplay, as well as cross-platform modding, bringing compatible mods to the console versions of Ark for the first time. The game will have a built-in CurseForde mod browser, allowing players to quickly browse and install new mods. Additionally, the developers are empowering mod makers with the new Ark Devkit, which will be made available via the Epic Games launcher – which makes sense, as this is an Unreal Engine game.

Ark: Survival Ascended unfortunately does not have a final release date yet but it is listed as ‘coming soon' for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The new version will also contain all of the previous DLCs released for Survival Evolved in its original form.

KitGuru Says: The chat for the Xbox stream was demanding Ark: Survival Ascended be shown from the second the show started. If that is any indication of popularity, it would seem that this re-release is in high demand.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
