New World is getting its first expansion, as well as mounts

New World got off to a hot start but after the initial launch, the hype died down considerably for Amazon's big MMO project. The studio is looking to respark things this year though with a new expansion.

New World: Rise of the Angry Earth is the MMO's first official expansion, launching in October. The expansion will bring a new main quest line, increase the game's level cap and add mounts.

New World didn't launch with mounts in place but they will finally come to the game with this expansion, allowing players to travel around the world faster and therefore, get to new quests and content quicker. Players will be able to ride horses, dire wolves and even lions.

The level cap will increase to 65 and the in-game gear score will increase to 700, so returning players will be able to jump back in and get levelling, all while replacing old gear with new, more powerful options. The new expansion will also introduce Artifacts, a new tier for weapons and armour with greater stats, so there is plenty of new stuff for players to chase while playing through the new main quest.

New World: Rise of the Angry Earth will launch on the 3rd of October.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
