Starfield reviews are officially live

The review embargo has lifted and the Starfield reviews have begun flooding in. At this point, there are 26 reviews recorded on Metacritic, with the game earning an 89 overall score.

While some outlets have offered glowing praise for Starfield, others have been more measured. IGN for instance gave it a 7/10 score, but IGN Japan scored it a 10/10, so there is a bit of a range. Overall though, sentiments about the game do lean heavily towards the positive side.

At 1AM BST tomorrow, Starfield will unlock for Premium Edition buyers, so millions of players will have the chance to jump in for themselves and experience the game first-hand.

Typically, I find that user reviews are often more helpful than critic reviews and I think Steam's overall user score system is a better indicator of a game's overall state compared to traditional scores. However, as Starfield doesn't launch until the 6th of September, it'll be a few extra days before we can see Steam user reviews, even if many have early access.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
