Seagate’s latest Star Wars-themed SSDs come equipped with lightsabers

Seagate has released a range of licensed special edition storage drives so far. Today, the company is unveiling its latest, with new Star Wars editions of the FireCuda NVMe SSD, each with a lightsaber design on the heatsink, complete with RGB lighting.

There are three new Star Wars Edition FireCuda NVMe SSDs to choose from, one honouring Obi-Wan Kenobi, another for Darth Vader and another for Luke Skywalker. Each drive includes customisable RGB LED lighting that shines through the faceplate. Interestingly, the unique loading mechanism that attaches to the interchangeable faceplate for the SSD was designed by EKWB. The heatsink is designed to prevent thermal throttling, allowing you to hit peak speeds and sustain them for longer periods.

Officially licensed by Lucasfilm, the special edition FireCuda NVMe SSD represents the famed characters with three iconic Lightsaber designs built on swappable heatsink faceplates so gamers can choose a design inspired by the Jedi or Sith that fits their collection at any moment.

Under the hood, these are fast PCIe 4.0 SSDs, with up to 2TB capacity and up to 7300MB/s speeds. The 1TB version will sell for £159.90 and the 2TB version will go for £239.90.
