Disney Speedstorm will become free-to-play starting September 28th

Gameloft Barcelona has announced that Disney Speedstorm will officially release on September 28th. That means that from this date onward, the game will be free-to-play and will be available on multiple platforms, marking the completion of its Early Access period.

Disney's kart-racing game was first released on April 18th as an Early Access title, featuring three distinct Founder's Packs that provide additional content and cosmetics. From the beginning, the developers have always intended to launch Disney Speedstorm as a free-to-play game.

Leading up to the September 28th release date, players can still purchase Disney Speedstorm Founder's Packs, which start at $29.99/€29.99. These packs offer exclusive content, including limited-time racing suits and kart liveries. Additionally, special discounts ranging from 20% to 30% will be available on all platforms.

Disney Speedstorm will release for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam and Epic Game Store).

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
