Capcom announces Summer Game Fest Showcase

In just a few short days we will be knee deep in Summer Game Fest Showcases and announcements. Not wanting to be left out, Capcom has now announced that they too will be hosting their own showcase during the Summer Game Fest period.

As shared by the official Summer Game Fest Twitter page, it was announced that the “Capcom Showcase is coming to #SummerGameFest next Monday, June 12 at 3p PT / 6p ET []11PM UK Time.”

No further details were shared (aside from the vague tease “Capcom presents a look at what's next”), however based on the fact that the publisher is hosting its own showcase as opposed to being integrated into Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest Kick-Off does suggest that they might have quite a bit to show off. Fortunately, we won’t have long to wait before finding out, as the Capcom Showcase is set to go live in under one week’s time.

With Capcom included, 2023’s Summer Game Fest will now feature 9 separate shows: Summer Game Fest’s Kick-off; Day of the Devs; Devolver Digital’s “annual gaming extravaganza”; Tribeca Games Spotlight; Wholesome Direct; OTK Games Expo; Xbox Games Showcase; PC Gaming Show and last but not least the Capcom Showcase.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
