PvP multiplayer first-person shooter ‘Concord’ from Firewalk Studios announced

During the recent PlayStation Showcase, Sony teased a number of first-party projects currently in development by the console manufacturer’s more recently-acquired studios. One such announcement unveiled ‘Concord’ – a new PVP multiplayer FPS from Firewalk Studios coming to PS5 and PC.

Teasing the game with a rather abstract trailer, the team at Firewalk Studios elaborated via the PlayStation Blog, with game director Ryan Ellis announcing that “Concord is our new PvP multiplayer first-person shooter coming to PS5 and PC in 2024.”

Ellis continued, “Concord is a bringing together of peoples. It’s the power of games to build connection and inspire social play. The Firewalk team is driven by the type of exciting, unexpected moments and shared experiences that multiplayer games create. Every time you log on is the beginning of a new adventure and every match is an opportunity for a new story. It’s these ideals that define Concord, its unique universe of vibrant worlds, and its rich cast of colorful characters.”

As of right now, this is all that we know. That said, the visual design looks interesting and so hopefully the game itself will match the potential of this brand new IP. We will have to wait until 2024 to find out.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
