Intel Meteor Lake-P Core Ultra 5 1003H to have 18 threads and 128 GPU cores

Someone is already testing Intel's upcoming Meteor Lake-P mobile platform. A CPU sample has been spotted on the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark database, showing what appears to be the upcoming Core Ultra 5 1003H.

The CPU name shown on the listing found by Benchleaks has not been seen before on any Intel product. While some assumed this was just a test sample name, an Intel representative has already confirmed the company is “making brand changes” that will debut with the upcoming Meteor Lake processors. With that in mind, it seems the company will drop the “i” moniker and replace it with “Ultra”.

The AoTS listing shows the CPU as having 18 threads. That could be a combination of six Performance cores and six Efficient cores (12C/18T) or four Performance, eight Efficient and two of those SoC cores that Meteor Lake will feature (14C/18T). Moreover, according to this SiSoftwareSandra listing, the processor has a TDP of around 45W and packs an iGPU with 128 CUs and a clock speed of 2.1GHz.

Intel has recently confirmed during its latest earnings call that the Meteor Lake CPU is on track to launch in the second half of 2023.

KitGuru says: Seeing a 128-CU iGPU in this sample made us wonder if this particular chip is Intel's answer to the Apple M-series. With AMD rumoured to launch an M-series rival (Strix Halo) next year, Intel may also be looking to compete in this market segment.
