Intel CEO denies 3nm delay rumours

Earlier this week, a report citing supply chain sources claimed that Intel had deferred a chip order with TSMC, sparking rumours that upcoming products, like Arrow Lake processors, would be delayed. Intel CEO, Pat Gelsinger, recently had the opportunity to refute that rumour directly. 

As reported by Tom's Hardware, speaking on a recent conference call, Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsinger, was asked about the rumour. He offered a flat out denial that upcoming CPU products, like Arrow Lake and Meteor Lake, are being delayed. He also said that its 3nm program is “on track” with both TSMC and internally at its own fabs.

“I am somewhat amazed by some of these rumour mill discussions that come out. You might notice there were similar ones on Intel 4 a few months ago, and also with some of our other TSMC programs, which were patently false at the time as well”, Gelsinger added.

With all of that in mind, it would seem that there are no delays to Intel's current roadmap. The public roadmap currently runs through to Lunar Lake, the successor to Arrow Lake, due sometime after 2024.
