Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad delayed to 2024

Shortly after the poorly received gameplay reveal for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, we heard rumours that the game was due to be delayed. Now, just six weeks ahead of the game's planned release date, Rocksteady has officially confirmed that the game has been pushed back. 

While it was thought that WB would still try to get the game out in 2023, Rocksteady has given itself much more time to polish up the game. Suicide Squad is now due to release on the 24th of February 2024.

Rocksteady says its main aim with this delay is to bring up the quality level of the overall experience. With that in mind, don't expect a complete transformation from a live-service title to a more traditional single-player game. The game we saw earlier this year is largely still going to be the game we get next year, but hopefully, those ugly purple splodges on helicopters will be removed and we'll see a bit more variety in common enemies.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a co-op focused game, set in Metropolis, where Brainiac has begun to take over the city and members of the Justice League. You can play the game solo, but an internet connection is required and Rocksteady plans to support the game with continued Battle Passes post-launch, but there is no word on end-game content or future story expansions.

KitGuru Says: I still have a lot of concerns when it comes to Suicide Squad. I'm sure the main campaign will be pretty decent with good story moments, but service games live or die based on the end-game experience. If that isn't there, then nobody is going to stick around for post-launch seasons.
