Gamescom Opening Night Live returns in August

Geoff Keighley hasn't just been working on Summer Game Fest in recent years, he has also been working on improving Gamescom's digital offering by hosting Gamescom Opening Night Live. E3 might be cancelled this year, but Keighley's two summer events will still be going ahead, with Summer Game Fest in June, and Gamescom Opening Night Live in August.

Geoff Keighley, the host and producer of ONL, has shared the date for ONL 2023 via a tweet. Like previous years, you should count on new game announcements, news about previously revealed games, and possibly a surprise or two.

According to the organisers, this year's Gamescom will have 10% more companies than it did in 2022. However, they have yet to be announced by the organisation. Even so, a significant part of those who were at 2022's event will make a return this year.

For the first time since 2019, Gamescom's Opening Night Live will be held in person in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom 2023 will be taking place from August 22nd to August 27th.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
