Aliens: Dark Descent gets gameplay trailer and June release date

It has been a couple of years since the last Alien-based game released. In June, we'll be getting a brand new one, with Aliens: Dark Descent set to launch.

Today marks the release of the official gameplay trailer for Aliens: Dark Descent, a new game based on the Aliens IP. Players will command a squad of marines attempting to put an end to a Xenomorph outbreak on a foreign moon. It's not just the Xenomorphs you'll have to worry about though, as there will also be rogue operatives attempting to disrupt the operation.

The game will feature large open levels, strategic/tactical gameplay, customisable squad members with different classes and a range of unique weapons and tools to utilise in missions.

Aliens: Dark Descent will launch for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5 on the 20th of June.

KitGuru Says: While I enjoyed Fire Team and I do think this game looks interesting, I do still long for a sequel to Alien Isolation, which still stands as one of the best games in the franchise. I'd also like to see a new AvP game, as it has been a long time since the 2010 reboot.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
