Star Wars: Squadrons is free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, Epic offers a game or two for free to all through its Epic Games Store. Right now, those with an Epic Games account can get their hands on the fun and frenetic space shooter ‘Star Wars: Squadrons’.

Available to add to your library for free from now until the 1st of December (4PM GMT), Star Wars: Squadrons remains one of the most well-liked titles released by EA pertaining to this franchise.

In Star Wars: Squadrons, players must “step into the cockpits of starfighters from both the New Republic and Imperial fleets and fight in strategic 5v5 space battles. Modify your starfighter and adjust the composition of your squadron to suit varying playstyles and crush the opposition. Pilots will triumph as a team and complete tactical objectives across known and never-before-seen battlefields.”

Offering both a single player story and a robust multiplayer component, Star Wars: Squadrons was received well by critics, with particular praise being placed upon the game’s immersion.

Speaking of, Squadrons also offers the option to play in VR should you have a headset handy – upping the immersion all the way to 11.

While not the most content-rich title, Star Wars fans will find plenty to love with Squadrons – especially for the price of free. Star Wars: Squadrons is free to add to your library right now, and will remain so until the 1st of December, at which point it will be replaced by ‘Fort Triumph’ and ‘RPG in a Box’.
