Nvidia AD104 GPU is half the size of AD102 according to leaked picture

The AD104 GPU is expected to power the rumoured RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, with a launch planned for some time in the coming months. Thanks to the cancelled RTX 4080 12GB, we already have a good idea of what to expect from this GPU on the specs front, but now thanks to a newly leaked image, we can also make some interesting comparisons to the AD102.

Recently, MEGAsizeGPU shared a picture of the AD104 GPU. Assuming this is a fully-enabled die, it should pack 60 streaming multiprocessors with 7680 CUDA cores, 240 Tensor cores and 60 RT cores. Based on the TSMC 4N node, the GPU is expected to feature a 192-bit memory bus.

The GPU is estimated to be around 295 mm², about half of the flagship AD102 GPU used on the RTX 4090. Compared to the GA104 GPU (RTX 3070), it's about 100 mm² smaller. Despite the size reduction, it should still perform considerably better than its predecessor.

It is rumoured that Nvidia will announce the RTX 4070 Ti graphics card at CES in January, as well as the first RTX 40 laptop GPUs.
