The Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition arrives with eye-watering price tag

Today, Razer is launching its lightest gaming mouse yet, the Viper Mini Signature Edition. With an upgraded exoskeleton, a Razer Focus Pro 30K optical sensor and up to 60 hours of wireless battery life, the mouse looks good on paper, although it does have an eye-watering price tag. 

Speaking on creating the mouse, Barrie Ooi, Razer's head of PC Gaming, said:  “We went beyond our usual design process to look at material selection and alternate industrial designs to create an ultra-durable magnesium alloy exoskeleton chassis. As a result, the Viper Mini Signature Edition is just 49 grams light with no compromises, making it our lightest mouse ever”.

The use of magnesium alloy and injection-moulding techniques enabled significant weight reduction in the mouse without compromising on durability, while still allowing for a comfortable grip in the popular Viper Mini design.

Boasting the Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3, and HyperPolling Wireless with 4000Hz polling rates, the Viper Mini Signature Edition features some of Razer's best mouse technology. The mouse can fully charge in under 90 minutes, in part thanks to its new 2C charging rate, which is claimed to be four times faster than the peak charging capacity of most other wireless mice.

As nice as the mouse appears to be on paper, it is also going to be an expensive upgrade for many, with the price coming in at $279.99 USD. UK pricing and availability has not been announced yet, but in Europe, the mouse will cost €319.99.
