Microsoft officially announces January Game Pass line-up

Following a great year in 2022, Microsoft has started off its 2023 in a rather silent manner – at least when it comes to Xbox Game Pass. Typically updated twice a month, we have seen little in the way of new titles for Game Pass. Finally however, Microsoft has announced what we can expect to play this month – and it is unfortunately unsurprising (even if the games included are massive).

Making the announcement on their blog, Megan Spurr, the Community Lead for Xbox Game Pass said “Welcome to 2023, Game Pass friends! We’re starting off the year with some iconic franchises from beloved Japanese developers whose games will soon be landing with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. For now, let’s start juicing up our controllers and get our pre-install on; it’s time to get to the games!”

With that, the list of games joining the service this month is as follows:

  • Persona 3 Portable (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 19
  • Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 19
  • Monster Hunter Rise (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 20

All three of these titles are major 100+ hour experiences, but it is interesting still to see that only 3 titles are being added this month. Moreover, these games were announced to be coming to Game Pass a while back, and so their inclusion is entirely unsurprising. Still, these three games are all absolutely worth your time and will keep you entertained potentially for months.

As always, a bunch of games will also be leaving the service this month (on the 15th), namely:

  • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
  • Nobody Saves The World
  • Pupperazzi
  • The Anacrusis (Game Preview)
  • We Happy Few
  • Windjammers 2

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
