Multiple sources suggest an Xbox showcase is happening in Early 2023

Microsoft has been pretty silent this year. While Game Pass has continued to add quality titles on a monthly basis, the console manufacturer did little to show its face at 2022’s many gaming conferences and showcases. That being said, Microsoft may be set to start 2023 with a bang, as multiple sources hint towards an Early 2023 game showcase.

As part of The Xbox Two podcast, known industry insiders Rand Al Thor 19 and Jez Corden discussed the potential for an upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, with the former claiming to have heard from 2 separate sources that Xbox is gearing up for a showcase in Early 2023.

Leaks aside, Microsoft themselves have hinted towards this fact multiple times, with the Forza Motorsport team – Turn 10 – previously saying that they would “re-engage at the start of 2023”.

Additionally, PlayGround Games previously offered a high level update on Forza Horizon 5’s next DLC, saying “We're hard at work on the second expansion of Forza Horizon 5. You can expect to see (the expansion) in early 2023. We'll have more to share after we enter the new year” – further adding to the notion of a showcase in Early 2023.

Whether a showcase is planned or not, many Xbox fans are beginning to feel somewhat agitated as Game Pass aside, Microsoft has done little to justify the purchasing of an Xbox console. Hopefully a showcase is indeed on its way soon.

1047 Games found a ton of success back in 2019 when they released SplitGate: a fun and fast-paced arena shooter in the vein of classic Halo, while adding a twist in the form of portals which players could place around the map for strategic plays. While its sequel has failed to make the same level of splash, the team are apparently working on a brand new game – this one being inspired by Titanfall.
