Sonic Frontiers crosses over with Monster Hunter for free collab pack

Sonic Frontiers released this month to seemingly early success, with fans of the Blue Blur praising the bold and new direction Sonic Team chose to take with the series. In an interesting move, Sonic Frontiers is crossing over with Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise – with the collab pack available for free right now.

Making the announcement, SEGA said “The Sonic Frontiers x Monster Hunter Collab Pack is available now…for free! Get ready to take down monsters and Titans alike when the worlds of Sonic Frontiers and Monster Hunter collide! Channel iconic monsters in the Rathalos and Felyne Rathalos outfits, then carve out some well-deserved break time with the Hunter's BBQ set.”

As expected, the outfits do look somewhat jarring being adapted for a humanoid hedgehog, but for fans of Monster Hunter, this collab is undoubtedly exciting – especially for the low cost of ‘free’.

This isn’t the first piece of DLC released for the game, with SEGA giving away Sonic’s iconic Soap shoes to all those who signed up for the game’s newsletter. With the success of Sonic Frontiers, hopefully additional free collabs and DLC are on their way.

While its sequel has failed to make the same level of splash, the team are apparently working on a brand new game – this one being inspired by Titanfall.
