Gotham Knights is getting a free update adding 4-player co-op mode

While Gotham Knights unfortunately launched to somewhat middling reviews, WB Games Montreal seems dedicated to improving the experience. Previously. It was announced that Gotham Knights would be getting a 4-player co-op game mode post-launch. Dubbed the ‘Heroic Assault’, this free update is set to arrive today.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Gotham Knights page said “A challenger from the stars arrives in Gotham [today]. Don't miss the free update for Heroic Assault [today] at 8AM PT [4PM GMT].”

Currently, relatively little is actually known about this Heroic Assault game mode, though it has been confirmed to offer 4-player co-op. While Gotham Knights allows you to play as 4 different heroes in total, the main campaign limits you to just two-players when hopping on with a friend. As such, it is nice to see a full 4-player co-op mode being made available. Hopefully the game mode is balanced properly to accommodate for the increased number of players.

Additionally, all we know about this Heroic Assault mode is that it “provides a dedicated arena-like environment with specific objectives to complete and enemies to defeat on each floor (30 floors total).”

A multi-floor fighting arena sounds fun, especially with 4 players. While this new mode is unlikely to turn the tides on the overall perception of Gotham Knights, it is a welcome update – hopefully the first of many.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
