AMD slashes Ryzen 7000 CPU prices

AMD's current top-end processor, the Ryzen 9 7950X, offers great performance but it is also expensive, with a launch price of $699 in the US, or £739.99 here in the UK. If you've been holding out for a sale before picking one of these up, then now is a great time to shop around, as AMD has quietly slashed the price down by over 20%. Other Ryzen 7000 series processors are also currently on sale.

Currently, you can grab the Ryzen 9 7950X for £599.99 from OCUK, Scan and Amazon here in the UK. Over in the US, sites like Newegg also have the chip at a discount, bringing the price down to $574.

If you need a refresher, you can see all the key specs for each new Ryzen processor in the table below:

GRAPHICS MODEL CORES THREADS MAX BOOST CLOCK BASE CLOCK TOTAL CACHE PCIE VERSION GRAPHICS CORE COUNT DEFAULT TDP
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X AMD Radeon Graphics 16 32 Up to 5.7GHz 4.5GHz 80MB Gen 5 2 170W

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X AMD Radeon Graphics 6 12 Up to 5.3GHz 4.7Ghz 38MB Gen 5 2 105W

AMD's other Ryzen 7000 processors are also seeing decent price cuts this week. The Ryzen 9 7900X is down to £479.99, the Ryzen 7 7700X is down to £359.99 and the Ryzen 5 7600X is down to £259.99. That extra money will go a long way towards picking up a decent AM5 motherboard, or upgrading to DDR5 memory.

We've reached out to AMD and this is a limited-time sale, so eventually, prices will go back up again.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
